We are grateful to everyone who has taken the time to provide us with their views on our early thinking for the site. Following our first stage of consultation, we have taken the time to review the feedback received and have developed more detailed proposals. These include:
Retaining the 1930s building, introducing replacement windows and a minor modification to the roof to accommodate plant equipment.
Retaining the structure of the 1960s building to the rear, infilling the the central atrium and introducing three additional set-back storeys.
Introducing a new, more contextual brick facade to the structure of the 1960s building that will sit more harmoniously with the neighbouring Conservation Area and key views.
Demolishing the redundant car park to the south of the site and introducing new office space in a building which matches the scale and elegance of Knox Street and Wyndham Street.
Improving the sustainability of the building with new high-quality plant equipment, fenestration, facades and greening.
Incorporating new consolidated servicing arrangements and enhancing the existing servicing road so that vehicles can enter via Wyndham Street and depart via Knox Street.
